Winter wheats

Varieties with better nitrogen efficiency

The main international outlets for wheat requires high protein level commodities. The variety contributes, for a significant part, to the protein richness of the grains at harvest.

With AMBOISE, ADDICT and RECIPROC, LEMAIRE DEFFONTAINES dispose of a wide range of varieties both efficient and nitrogen saving.

When wheat fertilization is deemed optimal, the higher the yield is, the lower the protein content is. This is the dilution effect materialiezd by the protein yield dilution curve. The deviation to the curve, also called GPD (Grain Protein Deviation), reflects the efficiency of nitrogen. The so-called GPD+ varieties, such as AMBOISE, ADDICT and RECIPROC deviate positively from this curve. They have a better ability to concentrate protein than the average of cultivated varieties.
